Student Earns $5,000 Authoring
Grass Valley, CA July 21, 2007
17 year old Zachary Smith of Sunnyvale California, has earned over $5,000 authoring modules for TeachMac/TeachIT. TeachMac and TeachIT are free applications that, together, form a cross platform, customizable video tutorial system. Earlier this year, Created Equal began offering a rewards program for authors. This incentive program brought Zachary his windfall.
"Zachary began making module less than a year ago," Created Equal President Byron Turner said. "Like most, it took him a couple of tries to get the first one done, but then he just took off making a new module almost every week."
Zachary has produced more than 30 tutorials on a wide range on subjects including Photoshop, Windows and Mac OS X. "Zachary is by far the highest earner this year, but the great thing is that these tutorials will be in our library for years to come and will undoubtedly continue to sell." Turner added. "But even if they never earn him another penny directly, our revenue sharing program guarantees him a portion of our overall sales for life."
