Everyone Wins with TeachMac Contest

Grass Valley, CA, December 22, 2006

Belkin, Freeverse, Macally Peripherals, RadTech, Shinywhitebox and TypeIt4Me are teaming up with TeachMac for the Everyone Wins with TeachMac Giveaway and Contest which culminates during Macworld Conference and Expo in San Francisco.

TeachMac is a searchable library of multimedia lessons produced by and for Mac users around the world. Lessons come in the form of modules which are viewed with the free TeachMac application. As a thank you for contributing to the Mac community, TeachMac and its cosponsors are offering gifts to everyone who submits a module from now until January 11, 2007. Authors will receive a copy of iShowU, a TeachMac subscription and a third prize from Belkin, Freeverse, Macally or TypeIt4Me. Authors who visit the TeachMac booth during Macworld can choose their third prize. Modules will be added to the TeachMac library under the authors' names and authors will also receive royalties for their creations.

Modules can be on any computer related subjects—favorite Finder tips, strategies for building the ultimate Civilization, how to optimize a WoW character, and so on. Somebody, somewhere, wants to know what you know. Everyone teaches, everyone learns, everyone wins with TeachMac.

The author of the module judged the best will also win the Grand Prize. In addition to their other prizes, the author will receive a full set of RadTech laptop protective gear including a NeoCase, ScreenSavrz and OmniCleanz, plus a $500 cash prize. The Grand Prize winner will be determined by a panel of judges: Dave Hamilton of the Mac Observer, Deborah Shadovitz of Mac Efficiency, and Ken Ray of Mac OS Ken. The Grand Prize will be announced at noon on January 12, 2007, at the TeachMac booth at Macworld Expo (booth S1338). For free software, instructions on module authoring, and contest rules, visit www.teachmac.com.

With TeachMac everyone wins.

Users benefit from clear, inexpensive, customizable computer instruction. Software companies benefit from being able to showcase products as they were envisioned, highlighting the efficiency, elegance, and functionality of an application. Module authors benefit, receiving 100% of the royalties from individual module sales and a portion of subscription sales. Schools benefit from affordable site licenses that extend beyond the traditional campus to the families of students and staff, helping schools take their mission to provide education to the community a step farther.
