TeachMac Goes Universal with Major Update
Unique modular training system includes improvements across the
board and a Windows counterpart

Grass Valley, California
Created Equal today announced the release of a major update to its
tutorial software, TeachMac [www.teachmac.com].
TeachMac is a free application. With a growing library of free and low cost
multimedia modules, TeachMac provides inexpensive computer training
solution for home, school and business. Unique to TeachMac is its modular
design which allows users to recombine existing content into custom
lessons for themselves or others and share them. TeachMac also offers a
$49 annual subscription option to individuals and flexible site license
pricing.
With this update, TeachMac is now a universal application running
natively on PowerPC and Intel Macs. TeachMac 3 features improved video
quality and faster downloads. The custom module feature has been
dramatically simplified. TeachMac 3 also adds a search feature and a kiosk
mode, which allows trainers to set up a series of self playing, repeating
lessons.
As an added bonus for tutorial authors, Module Maker, an application
which allows any user to author modules, is now available for the first
time in beta form to those who submit a module proposal. “Anyone who
can do a screen capture and use iMovie can make a module,” says
Created Equal CEO Byron Turner. “A very simple module can be made in a
few minutes, but regardless of length, it’s a one click process to turn your
content into a module using Module Maker. A second click sends it to us
and allows you to start earning cash for your creation.”
In addition, TeachMac's architecture is also designed to easily incorporate
other tutorial libraries. This allows other organizations to monetize their
existing training videos as modules under their own banner within
TeachMac.
We Do Windows
Created Equal is also announcing TeachIT for Windows. TeachIT works
just like TeachMac but runs on Windows. The TeachIT/TeachMac combo
provides the only cross platform modular tutorial system, allowing users
to run any module on Macs and PCs. Even custom modules are cross
platform, so users can make their own platform agnostic tutorials. TeachIT
will be available on September 20. Information available at
www.teachitpc.com.
