Purchasing for School and Business

Does this sound familiar . . .?

  1. New staff (and some older staff) needs training on special software, as well as standard applications

  2. Staff time is used organizing a training (a tough job with busy schedules)
  3. Staff is reassigned to provide training, or expensive outside experts come in
  4. A few members of the staff aren’t available on the chosen day (home with a sick child, scheduling conflicts, etc.)
  5. Additional special training organized for the stragglers
  6. The help desk continues to get call after call
  7. Repeat next year

Let’s face a harsh reality. Some people who attend mandatory trainings are not engaged. Perhaps the information doesn’t address their specific needs; perhaps they’re just busy and are trying to multi-task. Even those paying careful attention may forget what they learned, particularly if what’s demonstrated is not a daily task. One way or another, the traditional training model has flaws.

The TeachMac/TeachIT solution provides training that is:

 Flexible
 Searchable
 Extensible
 Affordable
Your staff can learn what they need, when they need to know it and do this on the platform most comfortable for them (translation—fewer complaints). TeachMac and TeachIT use a modular design: pieces of one module can be combined with pieces from others to form customized training. Build an overall training for new staff, a refresher for older staff, or one that just shows the new features of a specific app for the office staff through a simple drag and drop interface.
Staff can search for just what they need. A search doesn’t just find module titles: searches look at the specific topics in each modules and the text as well, so if it’s in the library, your staff can find it.
Our library is always growing, but you can add your own modules that cover site specific needs and keep them private. Also, as software is always changing, updates done by you or us are instantly available to your staff.
How affordable is the TeachIT/TeachMac library?

How about free? We offer two paths to getting TeachMac/TeachIT on your site.
Free
You have special software about which your faculty, staff and students need training. We need the library to be as broad as possible to make TeachMac/TeachIT useful to everyone. Let’s help each other out. Your school can have a free site license for producing 20 modules to share in our library. There are additional benefits:
  1. Earn Cash for your school—Individual sales of your modules go to your school or designee.
  2. Provide learning opportunities for your students. Modules don’t need to be made by staff. Students (with some faculty proofreading) can make modules. Module making could be options as Junior or Senior projects. It’s also a great project for computer clubs. (We even have a sample rubric if you’re interested in making modules as a class project.)
  3. Faculty, staff and students earn Author Reward points toward great gifts like iPods or cash.
Inexpensive
If you prefer the more traditional method, our site licenses are only $500/year. Schools with special needs can even get a reduced rate.
